We envision a society where every child has the resources and ability needed to attain and maintain academic success regardless of race, gender, class, or economic status.
To advance and protect the interests of underserved students and their communities through policy, advocacy, and education.
DJ Bling Foundation was founded in 2013 by Joseph "DJ Bling" Thompson and other artists/musicians to address a shortage of school supplies for students whose families couldn't afford enough supplies for the school year. As the years progressed, our organization has added various programs to address the lack of educational resources, health services, and family support in economically disadvantaged communities.
Our programs include or have included free school supplies, bike safety, technology access, academic counseling, performance opportunities, and the Family Advancement Mentoring and Education Center to address mental health and addiction issues.
Since 2013 DJ Bling Foundation has served over 15,000 students and their families living in Bastrop and Travis Counties and attending Bastrop, Austin, Pflugerville, Del Valle, and Round Rock school districts as well as various charter schools. Overall, DJ Bling Foundation has invested over $1.5 Million into our communities.
