Art can be a major outlet for children of disadvantaged communities to express themselves in a positive way. Unfortunately, art supplies can be very costly and many children do not have the resources to purchase or acquire supplies in order to cultivate their artistic talents. DJ Bling Foundation distributes free art kits for children to create art beyond their school art classes to cultivate their talent and express themselves in an artistic way.
Eleanor Ewing
In 2021, DJ Bling Foundation sponsored Eleanor Ewing’s Silver Award project for Girl Scouts. For her project, Eleanor chose to make art kits to give other kids the ability to do art projects at home. Eleanor knows art supplies can be expensive so not all children have access to the resources to create art at home which sparked her desire to do her project centered around this cause. With the support of DJ Bling Foundation, Eleanor established a free art kit program which DJ Bling Foundation as adopted into one of our major programs to continue the work Eleanor has started.
Eleanor’s art kits contain supplies and instructions for one complete art project. The launch of Eleanor's Art for All took place at Zavala Elementary School where 85 art kits were distributed during the school’s 8th Annual Santa's Gift Shop.
